Umama Syed
Associate Teacher
I grew up in India, and earned my Bachelor’s degree there in Computer Science Engineering. I later moved to Florida, and am now settled in the Seattle area with my family. My journey into Montessori education was inspired by my daughter's experience at a Montessori school. Watching her grow and thrive in that environment inspired me to pursue a career in Montessori education. I completed my Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Credential through MACTE and completed my internship here at Bellevue Montessori School. I am interested in working in early childhood education as I believe the early years lay the foundation for a child's future learning and development. I am a firm believer in the Montessori philosophy, which has not only shaped my approach to education but also enriched my journey as a mother, teacher, and individual. I enjoy creating a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe to explore, build confidence, and develop essential social, emotional, and academic skills. Supporting children as they learn and grow is both meaningful and rewarding to me. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, and expressing my creativity through paper quilling, crocheting, and hand embroidery.
