I have worked at Bellevue Montessori School since 2020. BMS is the first Montessori school I have worked in– I was drawn to the focus on fostering independence while also emphasizing the importance of being community-minded and modelling and teaching grace and courtesy. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher, and as a youth and young adult I was heavily involved in both the Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs, where I regularly worked with younger children, teaching and guiding them, as well as helping them to grow their own leadership skills. I have lived in the greater Seattle area all my life, and I am a voracious reader of non-fiction, especially works about history, plants, and animals. I also enjoy cooking, various fiber and textile arts, and going on walks with my dog, Zephyr.
