I was born in Nagoya, Japan and moved to America when I was little. I grew up in Federal Way until I was 8 and then moved to various places in Washington. I hold an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Montessori Certificate for teaching children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years old from the Montessori Center for Teacher Education. Previously, I was part of the Boys and Girls Club for 5 years. During my time there, children would tell me how much they disliked school. I was always unsure of how to build that love of learning with children until I toured a primary Montessori school and watched it in action. I love to hear about each child's perspective on the world because I truly believe each child sees life differently. In the Montessori environment, we give each child support and help them to build the tools they need to pursue their own interests.
